1. About the song

In the middle of the 2020 self-restraint period, I was immersed in an RPG game called "moon" released in 1997.  In the game, there was a function that allowed you to purchase your favorite background music at an imaginary record store and play it back in the game. I was greatly influenced by the unique drum and bass music I encountered there.

 

2. About the lyrics

The message of the lyrics, "It's so natural to be in the dark," is a projection of my thoughts. When we perceive the "light" outside, the element of "darkness" becomes essential to create contrast. In the same way, negative elements seem to play a major role in the reasons we feel happy in our daily events and emotions. I wondered when I stopped accepting myself in such negative situations. We can be on either side of the line, and the line between the two is blurred.

3. About AAAMYYY

AAAMYYY's singing voice is special. From the time I made the demo version of the song, I had a hunch that the song would be truly complete if I could get AAAMYYY to sing the Japanese lyrics and some of the parts. The high frequency component of her husky vocals was slightly different from my vocal range, and the effect on the sound was more than I could have imagined. The Japanese lyrics are also frighteningly deep and well-matched, so I hope you'll read them as well.

​4. About the artwork

The artwork by Korean animator shinnoske70 has a mysterious life force. In particular, I was particularly fascinated by the many rough sketches he made on Instagram in the process of creating his animations. In animation, a rough sketch may be just a snapshot of a moment, but the ability to transform it into anything you want makes it seem so real and I felt an enormous possibility.
